Virtual Maker Monday for February 1, 2021 | 3D Print Your Minecraft Mansion

by Unknown User on 2021-01-26T14:05:00-05:00 | 0 Comments

For our first Virtual Maker Monday of the semester, we will 3d print your Minecraft creations! Castles, houses, city blocks, mountains - (almost) anything you build, we can 3d print for free! You are never limited to just Mondays! Even though we kick these events off on Mondays, you can submit your designs any time throughout the semester.

You Will Need:

You Will Do:

  • Build anything you want! We recommend starting with a new flat world to make exporting your creations easier. Keep 3d printing conventions in mind. Since 3d printing builds objects from the bottom up, limit overhangs and gaps. Your 3d print will be one color only, so don’t worry about using different colored bricks.
  • Use Mineways to export your designs from Minecraft into an STL file.
  • Preview your file to make sure it looks amazing.
  • Submit your STL file to Makerspace staff for printing. We will let you know when it’s ready for pickup! https://libguides.xavier.edu/makerspace/3d-order

A thorough walkthrough of the process can be found on Instructables. You are responsible for steps 1-5, we take care of the rest for you! https://www.instructables.com/How-to-3D-Print-Your-Minecraft-World/
