Makerspace: Team Building

Welcome to the Xavier University Library Makerspace!

Team building in the Makerspace is a unique experience at Xavier University. From clubs to classes to staff areas, the Makerspace can host small to large group activities that bring classmates and coworkers together to collaboratively create projects and exercise communication skills.

Activities

Button Making
  • 1.25" and 2.25" buttons and magnets
  • Create your own design or find images in our collection of magazines and books
Keva Planks
  • Let your imagination soar with "educational Jenga blocks"
  • There are a variety of leveled challenges for individuals and groups can make
Robot Obstacle Courses
  • Build a course out of found objects to run a Sphero Mini robot through
  • Create racetracks and compete against teams
Ozobot Challenges
  • Ozobots are small robots that read colored marker lines to follow paths and do tricks
  • Create your own mazes or complete printed out courses (while also learning a little bit about how coding works!)
Friendship Bracelets
  • Not just for Swifties, making friendship bracelets is a fun and low-stress way for all levels of creatives to make something
  • A wide variety of beads and threads are available
Banner Making (Makerspace B)
  • Acrylic paint and colored banner paper is located in Makerspace B--an open room in the library basement for anyone to use regardless of the Makerspace's hours
SWAG design and creation
  • Come to the Makerspace and design your own SWAG together
  • Great for E Boards and new clubs!
