Welcome to the Xavier University Library Makerspace!

NEW NEW NEW | Updates for the Spring 2022 Semester

There are exciting new additions to the Makerspace this semester!

We've upgraded our making capabilities with a new Cricut Maker.

  • Cuts 300+ materials, from the most delicate fabric and paper to matboard and leather
  • Compatible with 13 tools for cutting, writing, scoring, foiling & embellishing
  • 10X the cutting force
  • Rotary Blade for cutting virtually any fabric
  • Works with Knife Blade for thicker materials up to 2.4 mm

And let's talk about all of the new heat press options now available! With the Cricut Maker, we also added a 9"x9" Heat Press and a Heat Press Mini. These are quick and easy ways to apply iron-ons to a wide variety of materials.

We also acquired a Combo Heat Press that can do caps and mugs in addition to flat iron-ons!

AND! Our Brother SE400 Computerized Sewing and Embroidery Machine is an exciting addition to our Singer Stylist sewing machine.

We've also added a person to the Makerspace. Leslie Whitford is the new Digital Initiatives Librarian. She loves to tinker with all the cool stuff in the Makerspace--especially the Cricut and 3D printers. And maybe fancies herself to be a bit like Doc Brown from Back to the Future.

The Makerspace is open 10am-4pm Monday - Thursday!

Stop by, say hi, and make something with us!
