Library Instruction Request Form
You can request for a librarian to conduct a research session for your classes.
Library Support for Faculty
A librarian liaison has been assigned to each academic program at Xavier. Check this webpage to find out who your librarian liaison is. For faculty teaching online courses your librarian liaison can:
Orient students to library resources and services.
Provide online tutorials and guides of how to conduct research for a specific subject area/assignment, if there are modules that will require your students to perform research.
In your Canvas course:
Embed links to library resources and services
Embed online database tutorials and handouts
Embed the XU.TUTOR modules
Facilitate the purchase of new books, audiovisuals, and databases for your course.
Library Tutorials XU.TUTOR
These tutorials can be placed in your Canvas course.
The library has created online learning modules and quizzes that will help your students conduct research more effectively. These 3 library tutorials will help you to do research more effectively while saving you time and helping you to succeed at Xavier:
FIND covers formulating a search strategy and searching databases to find resources
EVALUATE covers evaluating sources (books, articles, and websites) to determine if appropriate resources have been found
USE covers plagiarism and copyright.
These modules and quizzes can be added to your Canvas Course. For more information please contact: Anne Davies (firstname.lastname@example.org)
