Interlibrary Loan offers free access to materials not available in the collections of Xavier University Library, OhioLINK, or SearchOHIO. This service is restricted to affiliated XU users with library records in good standing (i.e. no overdue materials or outstanding fines).
Is the item a book or form of media that exists elsewhere in the state of Ohio? Search OhioLink below to the right. These items typically arrive in 3-5 business days.
Is the item an article that Xavier may already have access to? Search Xavier's Google Scholar below to the left to see if you can read it immediately.
Is the item a dissertation or thesis? Check to see if it is available electronically through ProQuest in the central search box below.
Is it anything else? Request the item via Interlibrary Loan. *Note: The first time you make a request, you will have to choose your affiliation to Xavier. The next page will allow you to create the request.
If you are searching for a full-text article, look for the 
link. This will either take you to the article in another database, or the ILL request page (with the article information already filled in).
Due dates and renewal availability are indicated on the book wrap. If you need to renew, and if the lending library allows it, you can renew through your ILL login.

If you request microform (microfiche, microfilm, ultrafiche or opaque), we have equipment available for you to read, print, and screenshot your material. Please make an appointment to use the equipment by contacting Sidnie Reed.

Please note that our office may refuse to fulfill a request if we determine that it would exceed Fair Use standards, or otherwise violate Copyright law (Title 17, United States Code).
National copyright guidelines annually limit our office to obtain at no charge five articles published in the last five years from each journal not held in University Libraries' collections. Beyond those first five articles, copyright fees (which can exceed $100, depending on the journal) must be paid to the journal publisher. The library strives to fulfill all patron requests, but does not have unlimited resources to fund all fees incurred.
Please consider these factors when placing your requests.
