Exhibit, a digital repository provided by the Xavier University Library, gathers, preserves, and provides access to the scholarship, creative works, and records of the Xavier University community. Faculty and students are invited and encouraged to contribute their own work to Exhibit.
Although library staff is knowledgeable in copyright and can provide basic information, the person submitting work to Exhibit is wholly responsible for adhering to copyright law. Many academic journals allow an author to distribute their work after publication under certain circumstances that are detailed in the contract the author signed prior to publication. For example, some journals allow the author to share the final published article, while others may only allow a pre-print or post-print copy. Xavier University Library claims no copyright to work submitted to Exhibit. The author retains full copyright (assuming they already own it).
