Welcome to the Writing Program Research Guide!

This guide will help you with English 101 or English 115 courses.

Learn how to use the library resources to conduct research for your papers and projects. This guide provides the resources and tutorials you need to get started on your research papers and projects. There is also information about the library's Makerspace, Archives & Special Collections and other useful guides.

My name is Christine Mueller and I am the librarian who can help you with all your research needs for this course.

I can help you:

  • understand the library research process
  • select a topic
  • explore your topic
  • finding sources, like books, articles and more for your assignments

Getting Started

  1. The Library offers an online tutorial called the Library Research Tutorial. It contains 6 short lessons that provide a general overview for how to conduct library research.
  2. Once you understand the research process, begin searching your topic using AllForOne Search. The Library has access to: books, journal articles, streaming media, and more.
  3. The "Articles" and "Books" tabs in this tutorial will show you how to search in AllForOne Search. More detail can be found at the AllForOne Search Tutorial
