1) UNC Charlotte's Botanical Gardens: the botanical gardens are home to thousands of different plants that represent all those which the local climate can support. This would be a great place for your group to take a quick break and relax a bit while enjoying beautiful scenery. Admission is free and both the Botanical Gardens and Greenhouse are open every day during daylight hours.
2) 7th Street Public Market: centrally located, this market provides a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The market's vendors are constantly changing, but they are all local and share the same passion for community-oriented gathering. This would be a good spot for your group to get a bite to eat and enjoy the local scene.
3) Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts & Culture: this center celebrates the contributions of Africans and African-Americans to American culture and serves as a community epicenter for music, dance, film, education programs, community outreach, and more. Admission is $7 for students with their IDs.
