This LibGuide is organized by trip location for use by current AB Site Leaders. Within each location tab, SL's will find ideas for activities to do and places to go with their trip group during free time.

Free Time Ideas

1) UNC Charlotte's Botanical Gardens: the botanical gardens are home to thousands of different plants that represent all those which the local climate can support. This would be a great place for your group to take a quick break and relax a bit while enjoying beautiful scenery. Admission is free and both the Botanical Gardens and Greenhouse are open every day during daylight hours.

2) 7th Street Public Market: centrally located, this market provides a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The market's vendors are constantly changing, but they are all local and share the same passion for community-oriented gathering. This would be a good spot for your group to get a bite to eat and enjoy the local scene.

3) Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts & Culture: this center celebrates the contributions of Africans and African-Americans to American culture and serves as a community epicenter for music, dance, film, education programs, community outreach, and more. Admission is $7 for students with their IDs.
