Trip Location Information for AB Site Leaders: Watkins Glen, NY

This LibGuide is organized by trip location for use by current AB Site Leaders. Within each location tab, SL's will find ideas for activities to do and places to go with their trip group during free time.

Free Time Ideas

1) Watkins Glen State Park: Watkins Glen State Park is located outside the village of Watkins Glen, south of Seneca Lake in Schuyler County in New York's Finger Lakes region. The park's lower part is near the village, while the upper part is open woodland. There are over 19 waterfalls flowing daily for your enjoyment. Want to have a relaxing afternoon? Go here!

2) Seneca Harbor Park: Take a selfie at the iconic pier house in Seneca Harbor Park. This one is self-explanatory! It’s a must-do on your visit. If you’re not one for selfies, I understand… but you definitely don’t want to miss this incredibly photogenic spot. Walk the break wall to really get in touch with the water – literally and figuratively. This is a free way to spend a pretty day!

3) Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY: This short thirty minute drive allows you to escape reality and enter the world of... GLASS! While this may sound corny, the Corning Museum of Glass allows you to experience glass making first hand at the Hot Glass Show. Visit interactive displays at the Glass Innovation Center. Learn about the history of glass at the Art and History Galleries.
