The Hounds of Baskerville (BBC 2012)

88 minutes
This modernization takes place in contemporary London. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. This British series casts Dr. John Watson as a veteran from the Afghanistan wars. He becomes a companion to Sherlock as he attempts to solve crimes. The series launched the careers of Cumberbatch and Freeman, who have both gone on to play parts in The Hobbit and The Avengers series. The show's creators are also writers for Dr. Who. Series (or seasons) are often filmed several years apart as a result of the busy schedules of the creators and actors.
