Streaming in the Classroom

The Mozilla Firefox browser is recommended for streaming films using Solstice and Zoom. To use Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers for streaming over Solstice and Zoom, you will need to disable hardware graphics acceleration to ensure the film will play. Additionally, when sharing your screen on Zoom, select "share sound" to include the video's audio.

-Chrome Instructions: Under "System Settings" deselect "use hardware acceleration when available"

-Edge Instructions: Under "System Settings" deselect "use hardware acceleration when available"

Please see the following recommended instructions for the best streaming experience using Zoom Rooms:

  1. Sign in to scheduled zoom meeting using the Zoom panel in classroom.

  2. From the Zoom application on your computer, select the home tab to share screen. Make sure to select “share computer sounds” and that your computer sound is unmuted. From the Zoom toolbar, select "optimize share for full-screen video clip".

  3. Adjust volume control of speaker on Zoom panel.

  4. Retrieve video and select play.
